This house in open countryside is converted from a barn.
The idea of the renovation was to create a house that sat
naturally in the landscape, appear to be traditional agricultural
building and was comfortable enough living space for the
contemporary lifestyle. Two new wings and a swimming pool
were added to it. The main barn building become a single open
space with 9 meter high oak boarded ceiling. A lot of wood
in that space and a large contemporary fireplace give a sense
of warmth to it.

All buildings feature a quite simple materials pallet:
Cotswold stone floors, oak floors, beams, doors and ceilings
and white painted plasterwork. The energy to run the under-floor
heating is created by ground source heat pumps buried in adjacent
land.
